The Art of Herakut

German artists Hera and Akut have been operating under the name of Herakut since 2004 when they began producing collaborative pieces in the burgeoning street art scene.  The visual and textual content of their work is an insightful expression of their generation’s mental state. Herakut are masters of creating independent, self-contained worlds full of melancholy and profound humor. In doing so, they see themselves as a part of an overall cultural movement, without any artistic barriers.

If you were unable to attend the opening, enjoy the photos below but be sure to check out these works in person at LeBasse Projects in Culver City.  To learn more about Herakut and their artwork, visit http://www.herakut.de/.

Love there work, went to the opening and spoke with Hera a bit, great insight into the work. Cheers on the show and good pick on your side. *The first image is labeled wrong, the boot piece had an actual boot in the art. Either way, Thank you
