The New Realism @ Thinkspace

This past Saturday night, Thinkspace gave us a little sneak peek of what to expect from their 2011 calendar as they presented The New Realism, featuring the talented works of Aaron Nagel, Jeff Ramirez, Jennifer Nehrbass, Linnea Strid, Nathan DeYoung and Pakayla Rae Biehn.

Focusing on the photorealism genre (and coincidently the female figure), the paintings displayed the skilfulness, process and attention to detail for each artist.  From a direct representation of a photograph to an interpretation of double exposure, these stunning new works gave us a glimpse into the direction the gallery will be taking in the upcoming year. All six of these emerging contemporary artists will be showing in a larger capacity for their 2011 program

Enjoy the photos below, but be sure to check out the show in person if you’re in the neighborhood. Show runs until December 31st.
